After a 5 min conversation they told me to try knocking everything off on the Ohme app, so no smart charging/scheduling etc and then put a charging programme on the car. Basically the car is asking the charger for the charge and not the other way round. So I got home and tested this and as soon as I plugged it in it flashed white and went solid blue for the first time since having it, meaning the car had a scheduled charge planned. I was excited as thought this might work and it did. Now completed two overnight charges using this method on my scenic and my wife’s Megane and both charged with no issue. All you need to do is set your limit on the car so ours are to 80% and it shuts down once it gets there regardless how long is left between the cheap rate times. Happy days! I can now have a full nights sleep without having to get up in the middle of the night. Hope this might help others.

Morning thanks this. It's driving me mad and Ohme not as helpful to me. I don't suppose you could do a screen shot of the settings you've done on Renault app and Ohme app please. I've tried and it charged 2% only over night. That's more than I've had but still can't make it work so if I copy your settings it might help. Starting to despair 😔 Thanks 🙏

Ps. Do you have the home app paired to car or unpaired??

I can't see a way of removing schedules from home app. I have no routine but as it's set for intelligent go tariff it wants to schedule smart charge or max charge. Do I have to remove the tariff??

So confused 😕

I feel your pain mate. I had many sleepless nights. I have attached a pic of the main screen on my Ohme app. Hope that helps. Make sure you turn price cap off.

Don’t pair your car up through the Ohme app, where you can log into the Renault account through the Ohme app I mean, just link what car you have. To be honest, that doesn’t really matter as my is currently set to a Renault Megane as that’s my wife’s car but doesn’t seem to make difference if I have it as that our link a scenic, still charges fine.

Also attached a picture of my Ren app programme. Can’t get one in the car at the moment but will try put one on tomorrow. Just programme it for everyday of the week and the times between when you get your cheaper rate.

The trick is, as long as you get the blue solid light when plugging in (you will at first and might change to flashing white if you have to approve plug ins like we do, but as soon as you have done that, it will change back to solid blue) then you know the car is saying it has a scheduled charge planned.

If you are on octopus smart tariff where it charges at different times each day, I’m not sure how to sort that I’m afraid. I’m with BG and only get the cheap rate between midnight and 5am.

Hope this works.

Ah brilliant thank you so much. It's much appreciated. I'll follow this. Yes I'm on Intelligent Go on Octopus and Ohme say charger trying to give charge but car going into suspension? Looks like the intelligent go wanting to charge a different times is part of the problem. Good to know it works with BG so I may need to change to that if it comes to it. Fed up of waking up with it not charged and relying on max charge in the day. Totally defeats having a cheap rate. I've set car to be on overnight like yours so let's see what happens! Fingers crossed 🤞

Not sure what the answer would be on that then as I am led to believe that tariff charges at random times when the grid is quiet. Dont Octopus do another EV tariff similar to BG? So between times? If they do might be worth changing to that.

Yes absolutely. I failed again last night to get a charge. Car just goes into suspended state in middle of the night when the charge stopped being delivered waiting for the next slot. At the moment I can only get a charge by putting a programme on in car and doing max charge. I've just checked and octopus do similar one to BG so one more try tonight then I'll have to try a different tariff. It's so frustrating but I'm assuming it's the stop start nature of the OG tariff the car doesn't like. Bit of a nightmare really.

Well good news. I changed tariff to Octopus Go which gives fixed charge between 12:30 and 5:30 and it actually charged!! Such a relief 😮‍💨 clearly IG and car are not compatible.

That’s great news. I remember when ours started charging correctly and it is a massive relief. Happy days.

Well, no sooner have you sorted yours than mine failed to charge the other night. Needed it charging for a trip to the airport and woke at 4.30 as the dog woke me up and for some reason looked at my phone and Ohme app and it wasn’t charging. Looks outside and see that the blue light was not slowly pulsing, there was no light at all. Unlocks the car and locks it again and it started to charge! Have not had chance to try it again yet but my wife plug hers in last night and I don’t think that has charged. I’m away at the moment but the Ohme app is not showing it is charging. It’s also showing a smart schedule again which I’m not sure it used to do that. I bloody hope we aren’t back to square one!

So confirmed by my wife. It has only put 14% charge on her car over night and not changed the method at all! Bloody Ohme is starting to do my head in. Even though dynamic charging is off, the Ohme is still trying to dictate when the charge happens. So looks like it will charge for a bit then stop and plan to charge again a short time later and this is why it’s putting the car into a sleep state. So hard reset of the wall box and here we go again!
